Flowing green, beautiful grass
Children laughing, friends playing
Family gathering around that warm gold harth
The calming waves of life, some friends going, some friends staying
Community, Opportunity
Then came those soldiers
Frostbitten uniforms, long wet, hard days
Trampling through snow and shivering in shade
Nests of rats and death silencing horrays
Plagues of lice, endless nights memories of soldiers beginning to fade
The grasp of war, rattling minds, rattling the earth
Fathers of children not attending their birth
Overworked people, not the pawns of war
Losing their lives in another guys squabble
Let them have peace, don’t let brave men fall
Unfreezing their fingers from what comes out of a bottle
