She could hardly see
Through the blur
Those precious greens
That silky fur
She reached her hand
Her fingers trembled
It hadn’t been planned
Couldn’t have resembled
What clasped her memory
From childhood through
Her secret treasury
Was burning, due
Past the expiry
Over the line
She fell, leaving an enquiry
For others to bind
Together, and combine
The sights she saw
To make history alive again
