My Backyard Garden

The tall lush green tree,
In the inviting native bush garden,
As far as the eye can see,
are soft fresh leaves.
The chirping of the birds,
The gentle breeze,
The pom pom like flowers,
And the cold, bumpy, rocks beneath my knees.
The distant sound of traffic,
The intrusive plane flying overhead,
The strong westerly winds have been quite catastrophic,
And the damp mucky soil squishes beneath my feet.
This is my garden,
Boring as can be,
But let the magic take you in,
And the garden will be everything to you and me.
