Ode To An Orange

The start of a movie, the birth of a miracle,
A rather wondrous, warm-coloured, worthy sphere object
sat in the palm of my hand … it gazed at its surroundings with curiosity,
like a newborn child.
Light shines onto my face,
As its proud progenitress endows its youngster,
to me, an ordinary citizen in this world.
Along its vast core, sturdy branches were dotted
with hues of juniper, tangerine, ginger and honey.
All siblings of this itsy-bitsy object.
As I trudged back to my residence, I realized,
just how much this enchantress has designated me.
Perching on my hand, is a true goddess:
Pores fill the circular canvas, the pattern opaque and serene.
Like millions of minute carnelian gems, forging a scintillating treasure.
Oh yes, it is indeed an orange.
