“I am alive”…”I’m here”.
“Of course honey why wouldn’t you be”?

“Oh mummy “.
“Hey sweetie”…
“Daddy when I get out will you buy me a bunny”.
“Why would you need a bunny”.
“To keep me company; to be grateful to have a …mummy and daddy”.
“I’m so excited…I’m going to get a bunny”.
Beep beep beep!


“She’s asleep…Doc what’s going on with her”
“Is our sweet little Vanessa going to be all right?”
“Unfortunately mr & mrs Cato there’s not much we can do”
“Her body is in shock…all we can do is support her and give her oxygen”.


“Hi mummy”
“Guess what Vanessa you can go to school ,see your friends and get a bunny”
“ Thank-you mummy”
“I’m going to be the coolest kid in year 1”.
“Daddy’s already looking at bunny’s “


“Mummy… it’s hard to breathe “.
“Deep breath’s Vanessa ,you’ll feel better soon”.
“Beeeep!”
“Mummy what are all the beeps”
“Honey the beeps are saying your getting better”
“Just breathe the nice fresh air”

“Umm Doctor…I’m hungry can I eat”
“Of course, we’re just going to wait for your mum to come back”.
“Honey we bought you some juice and a sandwich to eat.”
“Enjoy”

“Can I go to sleep”?
“Of course Vanessa do what ever you need “
“Ahh”


“Oh…I’m Vanessa?Aren’t I?”
“Yes sweetheart you are”
“Mummy you’re...you’re back you didn’t leave me”.
“Vee why would you think that”
“Be…because I make so much trouble and and you don’t get to rest”
“Hm hm hm “
“Honey there’s no need to cry”
“But but I’m in pain and I feel sad”

“Hey vee”
“Daddy’s back, and he’s got a pretty box”
“Daddy what’s the box for?”
“There are two boxes”
“One for memories, stories and other family memories, the second box is for medicine “.
“Mummy why do I need medicine”
“Let daddy explain ”
“You need medicine to keep the pain in your body low so that if you get sick you’ll still feel perfectly fine”.
“Now you’ll be able to leave the hospital”.

“I’ve been out of the hospital for 1 month when can I go to school”
“We’re going to have to buy some new school items and make sure your fully ok”.
“If any small thing happens and you feel a little sick make sure to tell me so I can help you stay healthy”
“Ring”
“Honey that’s the school bell I’ll see you in the office when the day is over…I love you honey”

“Vanessa your speech please”
“My speech is called Thanks.The task was to make a speech about something special in our little lives and I chose Thank fullness. I say thanks to the cashier ,I say thanks to my doctor,I say thanks to my friends and I say thanks to my teachers.But the two people who I don’t say thanks to are my mum and dad so this speech is aimed to mr and mrs Cato my beautiful parents to whom I’m saying…
