Dear Earth
My world crumbles, yet you don’t so much as blink. Your tender lips melt under my soft touch
My heart longs for you, my loneliness absolute. I cry out to you, you are not there
Where shall I find my peace?
I asked, and you did not answer
I sought, and I did not find you
I knocked, and you shut me out, for I am not yours
Dear Lord
My world crumbles, yet you alone are God. Your tender lips nurse my aching body
My heart longs for you, your spirit comforts me. I cry out to you, and you are there
In you I found my peace
I asked, and you answered me
I sought, and I found you
I knocked, and you let me in, for I am yours
O earth, your lies are deceitful, your ways are wicked and your love is scarce, for I do not belong to you.
O Lord, your grace is sufficient, your mercy plentiful and your love is unrelenting, for I belong to you.
