A sabre of the deepest sky home to humanity,
Curtains pulled back to reveal never-ending strings of fairy lights,
Each one holding a secret, a wish, a memory, a hope,
Something to hold onto in your life or another,
Something to share to continue the generations,
Black ink has drenched everything within eyesight,
Masking the clouds and cloaking the shadows,
Merging them together into one hulking stretch,
Unearthly ethereal moonlight swallows each without exception.
The inconsequential light of the surrounding stars entwining,
Countless lonely stars are dotted throughout the bleak depths of darkness,
A warm arm squeezes my shoulder, a reminder that I am not alone, I never am,
Staring out at the infinite sky, I’m reminded of what’s yet to be discovered,
Every night when the stars shine, they seem to share their secrets,
I wonder if they will share one with me.
