I could remember it like it was yesterday
The sensation of sweltering sand between my toes
The sound of waves pulling me away from my woes
Cool, calm water running past me
The sunlight glistening on my back

The rock pool was inquisitive, full of life
The crabs chatting
The fish frolicking
The octopus observing
And the seagulls screaming

But soon, the seagulls are soaring through the tranquil sky
And the phosphorescence is glimmering in the night time
I breathe in the invigorating salty sea air
And when I’m walking along the beach
It’s just me, and the sea
