A floor to roof of glistening water,
Has been transformed into a place for an animal’s slaughter,
My days go by as I watch you thoughtlessly care,
Throw plastics into the ocean, for us to beware,
What was once so beautiful, blue, and crystal clear,
Now is filled with plastics and bottles of beer,
The days when the water was full of life,
Was when I was happy and could swim at night,
Now at night I can see no more,
As the ocean is filled with garbage, and plastics galore,
The sunny days turned windy and cold,
The memories of the beautiful beaches seemed rusty and old,
I became trapped in your garbage, rubbish, and plastic,
As I float to the surface strangled in elastic,
I trusted you with all my heart,
To care after my land, but now it is time to depart.
