I am from many places,
From the city and the bush.
I am from the earth, nature and the campfire
Where we all roast marshmallows.
I am from the colourful Indian dresses gifted by my Grandmother
I am from the fun festivals, with my family and friends.
I am from Priya, Neel, Mamma and Baba. The names that bring joy.
I am from the actions I have done in my life.
I am from the phrases that ring in my mind,
Perseverance, courage, patience. They are more than words.
I am from prayer and culture, from holidays of all kinds.
I am from stories of the past like Ramayana and the Dreamtime.
But I am also the future.
I am a rich colourful tapestry, I have complexity.
I am from many places -
This is me.
