A couple of heartbreaking truths left unsaid
Darling we need to find a way to put this brutality to rest
An old-fashioned letter torn to shreds
couldn’t face each other so it was written instead
But now it lays on the floor
Where we used to dance around before
I feel as though I don’t know anything anymore
But I’ll keep your letter, piece it back together
Speak only good words
Of you in the future
Dust myself off
Just like the letter
That now sits on my shelf
To remind myself
That the whole time, I could’ve done better
