The bathroom lights flicker,
Don’t worry about it
Sliding down the tiled wall,
I’ll be here for a bit
Clutching the sticky note in hand,
Beginning to wonder
“I thought he liked me”
As my heart goes to thunder
I grab some cutlery from lunch
From the bag beside my trembling hip
As I throw the sticky note written “KYS” inside
Out of reach from my grip
Eyes full of tears as the flickering lights fade
As I watch the tiles go red finally feeling inner peace,
My eyes open one last time to see a boy running towards me and screaming
It was the boy who gave me the note. “Jade!”
