Reach For The Stars

Remember who you are and reach for the stars.
The world is not perfect, and neither are you.
But reach for the stars and you will find something you’ve missed,
something new.
It could be anything, a beautiful spark.
That lights up the world, that makes it a little less dark.
A young girl feeling hopeless and down,
she sees the spark and follows it towards town.
On the way she meets lots of new people,
she shows them the spark and they follow it to the steeple.
The minister's there at the steeple,
he stops what he’s doing and looks at the people.
The stars are out, the spark flies to join them,
everyone watches and reaches up, the little spark is now a gem
glittering up in the sky with his friends.
The spark says, “See you next time,” the town people scatter
all their hopes begin to shatter.
But now they know the importance of reaching to the stars.
Or you might live your whole life with your mind behind bars.
