Finalist in the 'National Treasures 2022' competition
Oh, my lethargic loving of you
Even when all I speak are elegies
This terminal dream we lived remains true
And all my memories refuse to leave me
Clocks count down, day and night fall apart
Conclusion of the golden days arrive
Remains only the aftershocks of a stilling heart
Your hands on mine as you pull me down with you
Tomorrow, we'll see the sun again
Even when we have forgotten how to breathe
And time's arrow shoots through our heads
Your blanket heavy, enclosing us like dark earth
And back there, darling,
I wait for our unsteady symphony to end
Sleeping next to your crib of flowers
As the universe hums its final tune
