Education; the key to freedom and success,
Says the parents who want you no stress.
It sheds new light on dark spaces, a ticket to prosperity,
In your euphoria, jealous will be most of the popularity.
Enlightening, innovating, the pursuit of happiness.
Just ignore your pain, ignore your weakness.
Corrupting, confusing, causing you restless.
Tears like the sullen winter weeping, you no longer precious.
A person’s self-worth is depicted by a letter,
A constant reminder from your high school professor.
As fragile as glass, your happiness they’ll borrow,
At least you have straight A’s, it won’t matter tomorrow.
A hooded slump on the classroom table,
Insomnia, depression, and your mental health unstable.
But who am I to judge?
I assimilate to the system, just with a grudge.
