Red is a caged tiger, its hands prowling, eager to attack.
Forced away from home to live in cold iron bars.
Baring its sharp, long teeth along with serrated claws.
It hollows and gnaws and protests for freedom.
Red is juicy, salty blood, trickling from a vampire bite.
Instantly generating fright and nerves.
It showcases agony and ache yet also sorrow and pity
Soon it hardens to a wilted and withered scar.
Red is the sass of a girl you detest from high school
Pouncing and prancing through the school corridors with her nose held high in the air.
Commanding people to fulfill her wishes and desires,
without a care in the world other than herself.
Red is the battlefields of a war zone,
Lathered in crunchy bones and lifeless bodies.
It is the ringing of gunshots reverberating in one’s ears
And an unbroken sea of red poppies blooming on the scathing and ancient bodies.
