Panic Attack

Like galloping hooves on the cracked, Australian earth
My flustered heart pounds against my chest
Butterflies in my stomach like brainless birds and clean glass
Throwing themselves in all directions, they adamantly never rest.
Like flimsy stems quivering in harsh wind
My hands uncontrollably tremble
It seems kind of funny how people ignorantly assume
You can take a deep breath and just reassemble
Like the sound of a stampede drifting closer and closer
Pure, dominating panic fills my head
And with the frustrating feel of grating trepidation
My first, salty, crystal clear tear is shed
