2022
Over my eyes I see my flag hoisted into place,
Little do I know how I won,
Yet here I am, standing proudly on the top of the podium.
My medal touches my skin for the first time,
Pride overtakes me as my national anthem begins,
In the crowd I see my family becoming hysterical.
Cheering fades away as I walk out of the stadium,
Soon, I will be home.
