If I Were

If I were the sun, I’d bring you morning light,
If I were the wind, I’d lift up your kite.
If I were the moon, I’d bring in the tide,
If I were a star, I’d light up the night sky.

If I were water, I’d cool up your summer,
If I were fire, I’d warm up winter nights.
If I were the earth, I’d bring life back in spring,
If I were the air, I’d blow away Autumn night fights.

But,
I’m a human,
So all I can do
Is to sit down and listen and be here with you.
