Anxious soldiers smelt gunfire and explosions surrounded them.
New conscripts on thunderous front lines.
Zealously fighting to save their country from invaders.
Angry, sad and scared families sharing the news to everyone.
Crawling slowly on hands and knees, trying to dodge the bullets.
Loving caring nurses trying to support the injured and sick.
Exhausted and desperate to escape the peril.
Surrender they did not, it was never even an option.
Terrible loss of life, so many young lives cut short
We try to remember the people who have died for us on ANZAC day.
Every year that passes, we remember those who won’t age.
Forever in our hearts we honour them.
Our appreciation we share, recalling the bravery they fought with.
Remarkable victory, invading forces defeated.
Great men were forced to hurt other people they did not even know.
Everyone wears poppies or rosemary on ANZAC day to remember those lost.
Thanking those who fought for our freedom today.
