A Caged Bird

A caged bird yearning to be set free
Crying and sobbing instead of chirping with glee
Feeling so sad, feeling so unheard
Feeling so bad, poor little bird
Banging on the bars, waiting for someone to open
Not only the cage but also their hearts the bird is hoping
Waiting and waiting was not that pleasant
This happened in the past and now it is happening in the present
It was very annoying seeing other birds
Fly across the sky saying mean words
The bird was huffing and puffing in the struggle
Even though all it wanted was a cuddle
Just then someone bumped the cage
The bird thought it could turn the page
Finally the bird was free
And that bird was me
