Let Me Out

I envy those who don't have the constant nagging in the brain,
The tugging at the heart.
Those who dream. Those who fly,
High in the sky with other birds of a flock.
Oh, I have spent so long pretending to be someone Im not,
Now, who I truly am… please don't ask as I have forgotten.
Someone, please let me out.
Someone, please hold me.
Someone, please wipe me clean.
I am stained with the teardrops of the dawn.
I am stained with my own blood.
I murder myself in my dreams.
Please notice my struggle.
Please understand I am ill and empty.
Please acknowledge the poor me who begs for release.
I ask no more than that.
