You promised me the world
Yet you were breaking pieces off of mine.
Our love so frustratingly fresh in my mind
I never knew something so empty could weigh so much.
I gave you chance after chance
I gave you the benefit of the doubt
And at the end of the day my patience just ran out.
Your beautifully spoken words were so consistently inconsistent.
And I craved the comfort from the source where my deepest pain lies.
I’m still taking back the parts of me that you held hostage.
All my love and emotion
And all the endless devotion.
I can’t keep praying for such a pity persons potential.
I can’t keep trusting your empty promises.
You may have closed this chapter but my story is just beginning.
