Missing you

We were happy, happy as can be,
I was with you, and you with me.
What happened next I couldn't believe,
you left me forever,
you died of a disease. Cancer they said, but I wouldn't believe.
I would cry out every night,
"come back to me, and fill my heart with ease",but you never came back,
and I sat in despair.
People called and I never cared.
I would sit and stay where you lay,
Saying "don't you still love me?"
"Don't you still care?"
I didn't know what to do,
all I knew was despair.
