Savannah The Cat

Savannah woke with a start. She had dreamed that Lily had taken over the world
and imprisoned her. As she raised her head from sleep however, she noticed a
looming shadow coming towards her around the door. It was Lily!

Savannah hissed and stepped backwards, but the wall was right behind her and she
couldn’t go any further. She was cornered. Then Lily, a playful look on her face,
scratched Savannah.

“Meow!” cried Savannah.

Before Lily could leave the scene, her owners charged into the room. “What did you
do to my sweet little baby?” cried Madam Augustus in her shocking French accent.

“You, you, scratched her!”

“Now, now darling calm down,” said Monsieur Augustus. “You are overreacting. All
we have to do is take Savannah to the vet to see if she is okay. After that we will
decide what to do with Lily.” He said the last word in a bitter tone and Savannah
knew that Lily was in trouble. The thought cheered her up and she almost forgot
what was happening as Monsieur Augustus put her into a cage and transferred her
into the car. But not quite! “Not the vet!” Savannah suddenly thought wildly.

When Savannah came back from the vet she was not happy. The vet had said that
Savannah needed a cone in case she tried to lick the scratch. The thought that
cheered her though was that Lily had been locked in the bathroom for two hours. But
still, Savannah wanted revenge.

It was a week later when Savannah got an idea. Monsieur and Madam Augustus
said they were going to leave both cats for a couple of hours, so that they could go
outside to plant flowers. So, once they left, Savannah put her plan into action. She
started knocking over things. The lamp, the coffee table, and then she destroyed the
couch and was at the point of ruining the TV when their owners burst into the room.
”What are you guys doing?” Monsieur Augustus yelled. Savannah turned around.

“You guys?” It was only her destroying things wasn’t it? But it was not. Lily had
started to destroy things too. But Why? “Go to the bathroom, both of you!”

“Why were you destroying things too?” Savannah meowed.

“Haven’t you noticed? I’m just a kitten,” replied Lily, “and when I scratched you, I
thought we were playing and I just scratched too hard.”

“So you followed what I was doing because you thought it was a good thing to do?”
meowed Savannah.

“Yes,” said Lily, “but you were just trying to destroy things and pretend it was me?”
“Yeah, but now I’m so so sor-.” Savannah was interrupted by the opening of a door.

“We have decided to forgive you both,” said Madam Augustus, “but we come with a
warning. One more thing like this from either of you, and we will take you to the
pound.”

Savannah looked at Lily, as they walked together out of the room.
