Try Again

As kids we are taught the phrase; “If at first you don’t succeed, try again.”
I applied this thoroughly to every endeavour i had.
Even to the goals I had to put myself aside to achieve.
Even to you.
I eventually realised that the more I failed, and the more I tried, the less progress I made.
It was a severe lack of progress that eventually led to missed calls, read receipts, and a silence neither one of us now feel the need to fill.
I stopped trying long after you.
Because, truthfully, you covered your ears and welcomed the silence the day we met.
