My world slowly began to flood,
Day by day the rain dropped with a thud,
More water than I have ever seen,
Not even a break of sun in between.
The backyard I used to play on was soaked,
As the land I lived on began to choke,
The rain was endless,
The floods were tremendous
The farmers grew worried,
They needed to hurry,
They scrambled to save their crops,
All they wished for was for the rain to stop
I thought the drought was bad,
But these floods made me sad,
I watched as people evacuated,
The weatherman miscalculated.
When will the rain stop,
I could feel my heart drop,
I wished for a break,
But all I received was my very own lake.
