On the moon-dusted surface of the river you swim,

Bright specks on a rippling expanse of black.

You blink and flicker playfully, as if hiding underneath.

I’ll never reach you, and yet to see you, I keep coming back.

In the form of a reflection, you come down to meet me,

As the sky finally turns brighter, you fade to blue.

In my mind however, you never dissolve completely,

Though my path may wander, I’ll be waiting for you.
