The Earth I've Never Seen

Trapped within my concrete prison,
Several stories above the ground,
From my window, I look to see
The forest they've yet to cut down.
I long for sunlight and nature's touch
As smoky air blackens my lungs.
I watch the trees, pained, for I know
The forest's destruction soon comes.
My mind allows me a glimpse of life
On the verdant Earth I've never seen -
With rolling plains and endless skies,
A land where I could've roamed free.
So Mother Nature, listen well.
Hear my plea from this urban waste.
Restore the beauty our lands once held
And heal the Earth with your grace.
