We are made of paper bones
Other parts forever left unknown
Eyes filled with galaxies and stars that once shone
Now carved into smooth marble, pieces of granite and stone
Decorated with specks of glitter and gold
Exuding warmth, despite the relentless cold
Honeyed words that take a strong hold
Upon a heart that is willing to mold
Constructed with pieces that shatter like glass
Falling forever into the endless dark
Still mesmerising though it's fallen apart
The twisted beauty of a broken heart
We are made of paper bones
Other parts forever left unknown
Sharp edges and cold corners on what we call home
The fragility making it all the more known
