The Light

I look at you and my heart lights up,
like a thousand fireflies have been released from a tiny jar.
You take years of worry off my shoulders in a second.
Even though thousands of eyes are on you I feel as if I’m the only one staring.
You are not afraid of the darkest parts of me,
but tend them in your gentle embrace turning them into your favorite roses.
