Excellence Award in the 'Unleashed 2022' competition
Sunny skies blossoming around,
Light green grass taking over the ground.
I look out my window with a smile on my face,
Staring at the wonderful colours of a bright summer’s day.
Darkness falls on stars so high,
Leaves are coloured like the sun in the sky.
Trees go to sleep so bland and damp,
The dark night sky is lit by my lamp.
The last glimpse of light falls into mourn,
And snow in the sky is just being born.
My window is fogged with wind from the ice,
This weather will have to pay their price.
Flowers start to bloom as leaves grow back,
Warmth arrives as cold begins to pack.
It is not wanted or needed here,
But its next destination is the northern hemisphere.
