Excellence Award in the 'Unleashed 2022' competition
Scales glistening and shimmering.
Moonlight slowly showing the sharp thorns across his back.
The sword-like and venomous claws,
A series of poisonous warts all over its face.
Fiery breath burning down forests upon forests,
Masses of bodies sprawled across the floor.
I stand there with my sword out,
There's no going back now.
I can feel the sweat on on my forehead,
Eyes locking with the creature.
I run forward,
Head bent low and sprinting with difficulty.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
I wake up with sweat on my forehead,
Head millimetres from the roof.
I had a lucky escape tonight.
