The setting sun, darkness slowly creeping in
silent but not quite.
Light fades; the day comes to an end.
There’s still so many things I haven't done…
but daylight will soon be no more.
The midnight hour; time seems to stand still
I look outside my window
An endless abyss filled with glittering stars,
Crescent moon against the inky black sky
So close and yet so far away
And I realise how alone I truly am.
Sunrise, golden light pours into the room.
Daylight returns, I look outside again and see
The autumn leaves; people going about their lives.
And I think that maybe
Today won't be so bad after all.
