As I solemnly slave for my daughters and sons
I wonder,
For how long I have carried these burdens
For how long must I carry them still

I wonder,
How My sweats and tears became one
For those who I've cried for forlorn
Now source my cries

I wonder
Why I,
but a loving mother distributing my spoils
should be punished for my toils.

I wonder,
as still I am exploited, working for humankind's bills
For how long I have carried these burdens
For how long must I carry them still
