The Haunted Hall

Mr. Gates gave us a note, “Give this to Mr. Benton.” “Okay!” Aiden said and walked out of the classroom. Seconds later he came back, “Umm... Who is Mr. Benton and where is his classroom?” “He is in portable number 72 next to the playground” “That’s all the way at the other side of the school!” He groaned. “Yes, I can give the job to someone else if you’re not up for it boys.” “No, it’s ok” I say and me and Aiden walk out of the classroom. “Okay now what is the quickest way around the entire school?” “We have to go around the portables number 31 to 48 and then through the main building!” I say “Or we could just cut through the haunted hall...” Aiden says mischievously “Aiden, you know we aren’t allowed in there it is strictly-“ Too late, he’s gone. “Aiden!” I yell after him. I sigh, and follow him into the hall…
I walk up the stone staircase that leads to the hall and look into the black, endless room. “Aiden!” I yell and my voice echoes throughout the hall, but I get no answer, so I go in further. “Aiden! Where’d you go?” I started to get annoyed. “Aiden if you’re playing a trick on me you better stop it now!” I yell, but still no answer. Suddenly I hear a faint yell, “HELP!” I get a shiver up my spine, this hall was closed in the first place due to disappearing kids, and kids in the senior years have told tales that at midnight you can hear them, yelling and squealing. I turn around to go get help, but the door behind me had shut without making a sound. I raced to the door and twist the squeaky wooden knob, I must have twisted it too hard because it fell off! I lean against the door, my heart pounding and mind racing. “Aww, Don’t worry, you’ll be safe with me…” I spin around and there is a young lady standing there. “Wh-who are you?” I ask. “I, fine young fellow, am Morina.” She says. The name sent a shiver up my spine. “You look hungry sir…” Morina said slyly. My stomach growled, “Umm, no I’m okay.” “Come child. And we shall feast with your… friend.” She said grinning. “Wait, Aiden?” I asked slowly. “Yes I do believe that’s his name…” We walked deep into the hall, and stopped outside a dungeon. She shoved me in and walked off, laughing wickedly. Then I heard a cough coming from the back of the cage. “Who’s that?” Then a friendly face came out of the dark. “Aiden!” I said. “Shhhh.“ He said and cupped his hand over my mouth. “I know how to escape from here.” “Really?” “Yeah, I dug a hole at the back of the dungeon.” We ran to the back and crawled through the hole Aiden dug. “Let’s make a deal to never go in there again.” “Deal.“
