When the lick of sea leaves your heels and flows out the bay,
I will stand beside you to wipe your tears away,
For tides will change and people will leave,
But not me, I aim to be the one person you will not grieve.
Through thick and thin I'll be there to cheer, or to hold,
We'll wait through the darkest nights till morning brings gold.
Though forces may try to wrench your hand from mine,
Just grasp my other, for I have two, and let our fingers entwine.
Time will take us, Time will paint our hair with snow,
But your eyes will forever remain a constant bluebell glow.
So when the angels beckon for me to join them far above,
I'll have to decline for heaven's too bright,
And I need to watch one more starry night,
With the one I truly love.
