I remember the day we met,
Your chestnut hair swayed like a pendulum,
Caressed by the cool wind.
As our eyes locked together,
My heart fluttered gaily,
And love blossomed like a sakura flower,
I remember the wave of pink that flushed my cheeks,
The way you bit your lip,
The way I shyly smiled.
The way everything unfolded like a puzzle.
Every day I felt the warm grasp of your hands,
I saw your childish face, speckled with paint.
Love whisked the days away,
Replacing worries with the warmth of your lips that tingled on mine.
And as age strung our youth out,
Love entwined our souls like two vines wrapped around one another,
An unbreakable bond.
And now as I caress your face one last time,
And run my fingers through your silver streaked hair,
Let the monotonous beep of metal signify our rose of love wilting.
