Chapter 1 The Tornado
The tornado swung into view as the dented car pulled onto the highway. From the
rearview mirror, Craig could see his castle being sucked up from the ground and ripped
into a million pieces as it rushed forwards to consume its prey. Holding back tears
Craig pushed on the accelerator and urged the car forward.
When Craig got out of the city and away from the tornado, he decided to go down to
visit his brother in Los Angeles but he wasn't going to tell him that he was coming so
it was a surprise. Halfway there Craig got a call from his brother saying that he saw
on the news that New York got hit by a tornado and was wondering if he was okay,
where he was and what he was going to do. Craig told him that he was just staying in
a hotel where it was safe.
When Craig got to Los Angeles he had to come up with a gift for his brother before he
went to his house. He knew his brother was struggling with rent, and paying the bills
for food so that's what Craig decided. He would give his brother a check for $10,000
for him to pay for everything and have a little bit extra to spend on himself to get
something special. By the way, if you wanted to know Craig's brother's name is Larry
and has pitch black hair same as Craig but Craig has bright blue eyes with a hint of
white, and Larry's eyes are pure green.
Craig decided to park one block away from his brother's apartment because he didn't
want his brother to accidentally see him and ruin the surprise. Craig's plan was to
sneak into the backyard of his brother's apartment and go up and knock on his door
and get him to open it and fully freak out. Step 1 of his plan worked out great. He got
into the backyard and up to the door and got into it just fine. When he got inside
though he didn't know what number room Larry was in. Craig walked up and down all
the hallways and couldn't find him. He was just about to give up when he heard voices.
The voices were coming from two doors over, he pushed his ear against the wall and
listened to the voice of his brother. Craig knew something was wrong because the voice of
his brother was scared, pleading and very weak.
Craig knew what he had to do even if he didn't know what his brother could be scared
of he still had to go in and save him. In his mind, he counted to three 1…2…3! Craig
charged into the room and what he saw almost frightened him to death. A huge big
black snake as large as the room holding the pale-faced larry in his arms, mouth
unhinged ready to strike.
