There’s this boy in my class,
A phantom in the corner, pale and shy,
“Why? Why? Why did this happen to me?” his heart wails in agony,
But he’s as silent as a grave, nobody knows why.
There’s this boy in my class,
All day, all night, forever imprisoned in his wheelchair,
Always haunted by the traumas of the past which cost him his legs,
They laugh, they taunt, but what others think, he doesn’t care.
There’s this boy in my class,
Step by step, he’ll try to climb the tall mountain with his head held high,
Like his inspiration, Mr Hawking who refused to let his disability stop him,
He’ll never give up and continue to reach for the sky.
There’s this boy in my class,
Who just needs a spark to shake off the past and set him free from his injury,
There’s no obstacle too big for this blooming survivor to conquer,
He’ll fall, he’ll fail, but in the end, he’ll have a warrior’s victory.
