Millions of diamond shards invade the air
Decorating me with lacerations, entangling in my hair.
Hailing down onto my soft, exposed flesh,
Its merciless assault leaves me short of breath.
Hisses of pain, squeezing through my narrow airways
Although unheard, as I drift beneath the salt ocean waves.
My screams are voiceless, my limbs numb and tingling.
I am a porcelain puppet lacking my spider-web strings.
Oh, sweet air. Where have you gone?
Why are Death’s fingers wrapped around my throat? They are gripping on.
Ice-cold and conniving, they whisper in low tones.
Where am I now? I really don’t know.
Engulfed by an ink-soaked chasm, my senses dissipate.
I’ve been discarded, crippled, and left for shark-bait.
In this desolate void, however, I know there is nothing to fear.
It is comforting in Death’s arms, and my mind is crystal clear.
