Songbirds sing their cheerful song,
But today, the hills are silent,
Today the rivers rush along,
Today the fires are violent,
The vibrant tree at which they meet,
Begins to catch fire,
Flame by flame until complete,
This land frozen just 10 years prior,
The skies which were filled with fog,
Now only hold thick smoke,
No creatures around, not one stray dog,
With no air they'd only choke,
“Don’t fear” they said “we’ll fix it soon”,
They promised everyday,
But the change came too soon,
This is happening today
