Polar Night

1st in the 'Summertime Fun ONLINE' competition

Polar night, alas, retrieves home,
For in depths of woe and sorrow,
Where wendigo race and roam,
And yet yesterday, will be tomorrow.
In brume they bestrew,
And to rivers they rove,
No cure reached, even through-
The distance they had strove.
The ether; perpetually lost,
For the darkled dells only grow,
For a pen now yet lost to frost,
In this corner no window may bestow.
Our dreary dorp beyond dingle,
Soon dwell amongst gleam and glow,
For your rise of rutilant arrival twinkle,
The dawn of a new tomorrow.
