Meaning of the shadows

Watching from the inside,
My pleading is in vain.
I can’t hear their voices,
But I can feel their pain.

Screaming without my voice,
I’m crying without tears.
Paralysed for ever,
A slave to childish fears.

Victim of the shadows,
An unsuspecting mind.
Praying for assistance,
If only god were kind.

Light beyond the darkness,
Does faith I need it give?
Now I know death’s meaning,
Is to let others live.
