Thoughts
I take a breath then take a step, my eyes are closed, they feel wet
I chew my nails then nod my head, I stay quiet, I stay in check
I swallow the lump in my throat, I don’t smile yet I don’t mope
I can’t hear I can’t speak, a single tear rolls down my cheek
My limbs feel heavy, they feel like lead, I wake up, I wake up dead
I take a breath then take a step, my eyes are open, I see red
I think about it, I think about it a lot, I think why? I think why not?
Why cannot I convey how I feel? My emotions, my ideas, nothing seems real
The many thoughts swim through my head, How must I deal with this dread?
I feel empty, like there’s nothing left, “Forget about it”
I just can’t get this off my chest.
