Ballad for poppy

My mum is a nurse, a great one at that
Always fighting for people's lives
Whether they're thin or fat.
But one morning at a clinic
She got a notice from a lad
Someone had gotten very sick,
Indeed it was her dad.
It turns out it was a tumor,
In the middle of his brain
They did their best to save him as he battled with the pain.
There was nothing we could do then, we just had to leave him be- so here's to a Fitzroy Footy Player who I know will remember me.
