You used to be an open book
We used to share it all
But now it seems you wont let me look
You just pretend you didn't fall

You carry your weight all day long
Dragging your ball and chain
Your mouth tells us that nothings wrong
But your eyes betray your pain

I see you walk, your shoulders hunch
From the cross you have to bear
I hear you talk, my body trembles
But I don't ask you, I don't dare

Why do you throw stones my friend
What is it that you see
Why do you raise old bones my friend
Why can't you let the dead lie free
