Death and back again

At the age of eighty-seven,
It was discovered I was no more,
Then there was a mighty “PING,”
And I was seventy four.
Well this was most unusual,
It had never happened before,
I had thought that I was dead,
Only seconds before.
The mighty “PING” it came again,
It came another time,
I knew that I felt younger now,
Just young enough to feel twenty-nine.
Well no, not one soul would believe this,
Not even my closest friend,
But who would believe that a dog could grow younger,
My owner would go round the bend.
