We are the hidden people,
The unseen under our masks,
Who pretend confidence and joy
As one of our daily tasks.
We are the lonely prisoners,
Those captured by self-obsession,
Because TV and other sources,
Forced on us, this depression.
We are the confused generation,
The victims of all the lies,
That magazines freely publish,
That work slowly to our demise.
We are the pretenders,
Who’s own doom we did make,
Because we were unable to see,
How all the other’s were fake.
We are the self-haters,
The punishers of imperfection,
That look only for mistakes,
That can’t see in another direction.
We are the beautiful people,
Who to our brilliance are blind,
Because we haven’t been taught to look,
And because we’ve never learnt to find.
