Under her strained smile,
Behind her empty eyes,
No sensation exists.
The sound of her laugh
Hangs fake inside the room.
Pretending to listen,
She hears nothing.
Staring in the distance,
At something only she can see.
Within she's torn apart.
Emotions leaving her,
Passions she never had,
Numbness oppressive,
'Cause the pain is too much.
